Commission sets Tuesday meeting to interview treasurer finalists

The field of 14 has been narrowed to two for those wanting to be Elk City's next treasurer.

A special meeting of the Elk City Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, at 3 p.m.

The finalists are Jan Martin and Deanna K. Moore, according to a City Hall notice. Whoever the commission picks will take over the seat formerly held by City Manager Anita Archer. The city's deputy treasurer has filled in on the duties since Archer took office.

The commissioners will meet in an executive session at City Hall and then possibly take action on the position.
