Hometown youth find success, return home to western Oklahoma

Everyday there are new oilfield workers making their way to town. When the growth of Elk City seems to be dominated by people from all over the country, and sometimes all over the world, there is a new trend of ducklings returning home to their nest.

Recently, the list of Elk City youth that have decided to move home has grown. They have found that "home is where the heart is."

Andrew Albert, McKenna Wilson and Jacob Cupp are just a few that are settled back in to the Elk City lifestyle after a few years away.

"The simple life's not all that bad," Albert said. "Elk City's definitely not super glamorous, but there's enough to do. I started weighing the pros and cons. You definitely give up a few things going back to Elk City. You don't have the fancy restaurants and the great cool bars and the big city things, but you have what's really important in life."
