City manager fires economic development director

Shane Frye, who was hired in December as Elk City's economic development director, has been fired by City Manager Anita Archer. When reached for comment, Frye confirmed he was terminated from that position Monday morning. He remains the manager of the Elk City Industrial Authority, a position created by and controlled by the city commission. The next regular meeting of the commissioners is scheduled for Monday, August 6.
