Big Elks release 2012 football schedule; Elk Pride starting soon

The 2012 Elk City High School football schedule was released this week. The Big Elks open the 2012 season with two non-district road games, the first being an August 30 matchup at Watonga.

The Elks other non-district game is a September 7 date at Tuttle. District games begin September 21, with a road game against Elgin. Among the schedule’s highlights are home games against Anadarko (homecoming), Weatherford (mass band night), Woodward (youth football night), and Cache (Senior night). 

The Big Elks will try to build on last year’s 6-4 record. ECHS started the 2011 season by winning its first five games by a combined 203-64 score.

Elk Pride Program starts soon

The summer strength and conditioning program sponsored by members of the Elk City coaching staff begins Monday June 11 and runs through Thursday July 26. 

Held at the Elk City Football Field House, Elk Pride is a six-week program. It will run on Mondays through Thursdays of each week, with a recovery week built in between July 2 and July 5. 

There is no signup deadline, as sign-ups will be taken any time throughout the summer.
