The third Sunday in June is reserved for dads, so in many cases it’s also a day reserved for the golf course. 

Area fathers hit the links with their kids this past weekend, as Elk City Golf and Country Club hosted its Father’s Day Tournament. The tournament, which was split into two categories, net (after handicap) and gross (before handicap).

In the gross category, Paul and Dustin Gunkel tied for first place with David and Berek Dyson. Both teams shot a 59, but the Gunkels won in a sudden death playoff with a birdie. 

Luke and Gary Phillips won the net category with a 58, just topping Jerry and Rusty Wilson finished with a 59 for the day.
