ELLISON TO TAKE OVER BOYS GOLF
New girls basketball coach Tim Ellison will take over coaching duties of the boys varsity golf program. 

The Elks were runners-up to Heritage Hall at the 4A state tournament this spring, and return four of their top five golfers next year. Ellison, who coached boys and girls golf during a past job at Locust Grove, said he is excited for the opportunity. “I was excited to do it, I knew they were a good group. I’ve talked to a couple of them and met some in passing. All I’ve heard is they’re good kids with good grades. It will be a pleasure to coach them I’m sure.” 

Ellison coached golf four years at Locust Grove and said he is familiar with the territory of high school golf. 

“What I’m looking at with these guys is, they have the game, so i’m looking to put them in some challenging tournaments. I want to challenge them.” 

SOFTBALL PRACTICES START MONDAY
Softball two-a-day practices begin next Monday, July 23, at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the high school softball field. 

Junior high practices begin the following Monday (July 30) at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., at the same location. 

PHYSICALS REQUIRED PRIOR PRIOR TO ALL PRACTICES 
As with all sports, athletes must have their physicals completed prior to practices for football, softball, or cross country. 

Physical forms are available from from coaches, or athletic director Bill Weatherly, who is available at the high school throughout the weekdays.

7-12 grade Chorus, Academic Team, and FFA

2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
7-12 grade Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, and Track
