In an effort to spur the renovation of Big Elk Stadium, David Dyson presented a $10,000 donation on behalf of Barber-Dyson Ford to Elk City High School athletic director Bill Weatherly Wednesday.
"The stadium just needs a lot of renovations and I want to be a part of that," Dyson said.
"There hasn't been a lot of funds spent on our football stadium and track. Plus, this new facility would benefit not just football, but track, soccer and cheerleading."
Because of a perceived feeling in the Elk City area that the renovation project is solely an oilfield project, Dyson said he wanted to boost a trend in donations from local business owners outside the oil industry.
