Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing assistant baseball coach and teacher, Joe Joy, and was enlightened when he mentioned how the busy life of a teacher and coach has the potential to put strains on a family.
For the most part (actually the whole part) being a journalist means operating as an information vacuum. As a sports writer, there can almost never be enough results, never enough quotes and never enough snippets of fact that I won't gobble up.
So after wrapping my head around the hectic, back-loaded schedules of high school athletic coaches, I'm more grateful for the time Joy was willing enough to oblige me for my nosy questions.
