The Canute High School baseball team ran into a firestorm of hits as it lost to the Erick Bearcats 15-3 Thursday evening.
“We’ve had some games lately where we’ve really got the bats going,” Erick head coach Ivan Martinez said. “I think we’re finally starting to find our rhythm.”
The Bearcats batted through their lineup, jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
Canute looked as though it had found its rhythm in the second inning, getting three runs off base hits from Brandon Riner, Blake Klassen and Cooper Green, but the runs never stopped from Erick.
The Bearcats scored six more in the top of the third to signify the rout.
