The term “scoring flurry” never seemed so appropriate.

The Elk City High School girls soccer team scored four goals in just over a 10 minute span in the second period, boosting it to a 5-3 victory over Oklahoma Christian School.

However, that didn’t mean the Elkettes didn’t sweat a little — OCS scored the game’s final three goals, after the some of the ECHS starters were brought to the bench to conserve their energy for Friday’s game against either Bethany or Newcastle.

“It was a good offensive showing. [The game] probably should have been 5-0 but I played some subs and wasn’t scared to do that,” ECHS coach Judy Rheaume said after the Lady Saints finished the game on a 3-0 spurt.
