Josh Welch, the attorney for Ronald Arganbright, said that he hopes next week's trial will be fair for his client.
Arganbright is charged with lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, use of an electronic device to facilitate sexual conduct with a minor and seduction of an unmarried female. Jury selection and the trial begins Tuesday.
Welch has argued in court that seduction of an unmarried female is an outdated and absurd law. He has also said the text messages Arganbright allegedly sent to the girl discussed sexual acts that would have otherwise been legal and consensual, based on her age at the time.
