Elk City native Mark Stansberry is continuing his push for a national energy policy that goes beyond the patchwork of laws now in effect.
His idea is for consumers to drive the market, a bottom-up approach to becoming less dependent on foreign oil.
"This personal plan drives the market so we'll know where things are heading," he said during a break in promoting his new book, "America Needs America's Energy."
The latest book, now available online at PeoplesEnergyPlan.com, is a followup to "The Braking Point," published in 2008.
That's the theme of the book, where Stansberry promotes the idea of a peoples' energy plan.
"I think it's an important time. We've been talking about it, now let's do something about it," he said.
It's important to start changing now, said Stansberry, because of political tensions around the world along with the availability of natural gas at home.
