Medical condition possible cause of fatal crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that an Elk City man died behind the wheel Sunday, the result of a possible medical condition.

Timothy Banks, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to an OHP report, Banks' 1998 Ford pickup was southbound on County Road N1990, or Pioneer Road, when he left the roadway to the left and went through four fences before coming to rest in a field.

The accident occurred nearly three miles north of Elk City at about 6:15 p.m.

OHP was assisted by the Elk City Police Department, Beckham County Sheriff's Department and Elk City Fire and Rescue.
